How to measure Lineal Metres of kitchen: To measure the lineal metres of kitchen space, start by identifying all the sections where cabinetry or benchtops will be installed—this includes base units, wall cabinets, and any island benches. Using a tape measure, measure the length of each section in a straight line from end to end, ignoring the depth or height. For example, if one wall has 3 metres of cabinetry and another has 2 metres, the total lineal metres would be 5. Be sure to include all straight-line measurements and exclude gaps for appliances unless cabinets run behind them. Add each section together to get the total lineal metres of kitchen space.
